Hacienda Sacnicte

It isn't a 5 star hotel, and I was prepared for that, but if you're expecting luxury you're going to be disappointed. If you arrive expecting a unique experience then you will enjoy it. It's situated a decent way out of town but in a peaceful garden area full of iguanas and butterflies. The building is beautiful and our presidential suite was one of the most quirky places I've ever stayed. The kids 10 & 12 loved it. The hotel does feel like it's a good few years past it's glory days and a bit tired but for the price you pay I think it's reasonable. Izamal is a beautiful town, we visited in the late afternoon sun and the colours were stunning. We ate at Kinich restaurant (excellent). We walked up pyramid Kinich before breakfast at 8am which was also highly recommend (it's free and we had it to ourselves and it's one of the tallest Mayan ruins). Breakfast at the hotel was average, fruit, egg options and juice.

Impressive main building and wonderful outdoor spaces, a great Hacienda worth visiting. The staff was friendly and the room and common spaces very clean. Huge room and bathroom! There is a restaurant open all day, quite convenient since the hotel is 6km from the town of Izamal. If you do not have a car, the hotel staff can arrange for a taxi to come and pick you up. The atmosphere is perfect for relaxation.

I liked the very nice room and the architecture of the hotel. Everything was very nicely laid out. It was great to sit on the patio of the hotel and relax with a glass of wine. The breakfast was very nice even it was not included in the price. I would recommend for the experience of staying in an old hacienda

Very nicely decorated, comfortable and spacious rooms. Affordable accomodation. Very good food, albeit somewhat expensive.

Terrific atmosphere and design qualities. A ruined hacienda has been transformed into a real gem - feels like a combination of an old home in Fez and a palace in Sintra. And all this close to the special attractions of Izamal and major Mayan sites.
